Ericsson selected to manage operations and maintenance of the MBNL radio
access network encompassing the Three UK and EE networks
5 year contract will include delivery of central operations and transmission, network performance and optimisation, field services, and multi-vendor spare parts management services
Contract to include the EE and Three UK 4G LTE networks
Mobile Broadband Network Limited (MBNL), the joint venture company owned by Three UK and EE, have selected Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERIC) to manage operations and maintenance of the growing MBNL radio access network in the UK.
Ericsson will provide MBNL with a fully managed end to end operations service that includes the network operations centre, network performance and optimisation, field support and maintenance, as well as multivendor spare parts management service for its 2G and 3G networks and EE and Three UK deployments of 4G technology.
Ericsson will deliver a customer-centric operational model providing Three UK and EE with a greater level of insight into their networks to enable an enhanced customer user experience. They will also be able to identify areas for future improvement in line with the rapidly changing demands of the market.
Graham Payne, Managing Director, MBNL said; "Since the formation of MBNL in 2007 we have achieved a great deal by consolidating a complex network infrastructure to deliver the best network at lowest cost.
