Microsoft will release a tablet with a screen diagonal of 7 inches?

Microsoft is in the future may allow the production of tablets running Windows RT with a diagonal of at least 8 inches. Initially, the corporation's management did not see prospects in the production of tablets with a small diagonal, but now, apparently, the situation has changed. At Computex demonstrated an experimental model from the company Inventec, dealing with ODM-production. The device, codenamed Lyon is built on the platform Intel Bay Trail and the IPS screen has a diagonal of 7 inches and a resolution of 1280 by 800 pixels (216 pixels per inch). This device is a prototype of a particular quotation, but only shows the operation of the new platform from Intel operating system from Microsoft. But the fact of release of a model based on the OS Windows RT on the tablet having a 7-inch screen shows that the restriction on the minimum diagonal is not insurmountable and in the future may be issued a model with 7-inch screens. Inventec Lyon has a quad-core Intel Atom processor with a clock speed of 1.6 GHz, other features include 2 GB of RAM, 64 or 128 GB SSD drive, Wi-Fi n, two cameras and a battery capacity of 2400 mAh. Aluminum housing of the tablet, measuring 20 cm x 12 cm and 11 mm and weighing 470 grams. The battery life is very small: 3.5 hours of video playback or 5 hours of standby time, but there is the prospect of improving the time to 10 hours.
