Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT)
solutions provider, launched the industry's first 240G BNG board for
commercial use at the MPLS Ethernet World Congress. The new BNG board
highlights Huawei's leading strength in the BNG field.
Since the arrival of an ultra-broadband network era, traffic has increased significantly, along with a requirement for more bandwidth. Operators need larger-capacity networks to guarantee high-priority service transmission and to provide a better subscriber experience. Large-capacity BNG devices and boards can meet this need. The BNG field has entered a 200G access board era.
The Huawei 240G BNG board has multiple interfaces for various sub-boards, such as 10G, 40G, and 100G. The BNG board can bear a substantial number of PPPoE and IPoE subscribers, provide IPv4 and IPv6 dual-stack access, transmit multiple services, and improve subscriber experience. In addition to performance and capacity improvement, the BNG board reduces power consumption and conserves energy with chips and cable clips with a leading technical design.
Gai Gang, President of Huawei’s Carrier IP Product Line expressed, "Global networks have entered the ultra-broadband era. The launch of Huawei 240G BNG boards accelerates the hi-tech industrialization process, helps operators construct sustainable converged networks, and provides a better experience for subscribers."
Huawei has led the global IP technology and BNG field. According to consultancy firm Ovum, Huawei was ranked first in the BNG field for 2012. Huawei serves leading global telecom operators, such as Telefonica, Vodafone, KPN, Telekom Malaysia, China Telecom, China Mobile, and China Unicom.
