New BlackBerry Curve 9320 and BlackBerry Curve 9220 Smartphones from RIM are Easy to Use and Easy to Own
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam - Research In Motion (RIM) (NASDAQ: RIMM; TSX: RIM) announced the launch of RIM's most affordable BlackBerry® 7 smartphones for customers in Vietnam – the BlackBerry® Curve™ 9320 and the BlackBerry® Curve™ 9220, which will each be available in Black and Pure White colors. Designed to be both easy to use and easy to own, the compact and sleek new smartphones provide access to all the market-leading messaging and social networking features and apps that BlackBerry offers, allowing customers in Vietnam to share life as it happens.
“The new BlackBerry Curve 9320 and 9220 smartphones offer truly unique and compelling messaging and social networking experiences for mobile users in Vietnam. We believe that Vietnamese customers will also appreciate the ease of use and affordability of these two new models,” said Nicholas Horton, Managing Director, Indochina at RIM.
The BlackBerry Curve 9320 and BlackBerry Curve 9220 support Vietnamese input and a Vietnamese user interface (UI). The smartphones offer the best keyboards in their class for quick and easy typing, and they even feature a new dedicated BlackBerry® Messenger (BBM™) key to bring the power of RIM’s popular mobile social network up in an instant.
Customers can easily interact with their social network in real time, using preloaded apps for Facebook® and Twitter®. In addition, the new Social Feeds 2.0 app is preloaded, allowing customers to post updates to multiple social networks simultaneously and capture updates from news sources (RSS), social apps and instant messaging apps all in one consolidated view. The integrated camera includes a flash and supports video recording, and pictures taken with the Curve 9320 can be tagged with their location thanks to the smartphone’s built-in GPS.
The new BlackBerry Curve smartphones also feature a built-in FM radio that allows customers to tune into their favorite local stations, and listening to the FM radio does not require a data plan or use data services. With the long lasting battery in these smartphones, customers can get up to 7 hours of talk time or up to 28 hours(1) of music playback or FM radio listening with headphones. The BlackBerry Curve 9320 also features Mobile Hotspot support(2) which allows customers to share their mobile data connection with up to five Wi-Fi® -enabled devices, including laptops and tablets.
The BlackBerry Curve 9320 and BlackBerry Curve 9220 are available today from select authorised retailers through Smartcom at a price of VND5,300,000 and VND4,300,000 respectively. Both smartphones come with an 18-month warranty with support from local after-sales service centers.
