The mobile operator "MTS Ukraine" announced the introduction of its
network to GSM technology GB over IP, providing a significant boost to
subscriber data rate. The implementation of new technology is one of the
stages of the general program of MTS to upgrade network equipment,
designed for several years.
As stated by the operator, the use of GB over IP technology means faster mobile internet access standard EDGE / GPRS on average by 15-20% for each subscriber. At the moment, MTS has implemented technology GB over IP in six regions - it can evaluate the benefits of an subscribers in Odessa, Kherson, Mykolayiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhya regions and the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. After working capacity of the transport network MTS at sites in these regions has increased by five times.
