"Rostelecom" has launched 3G-network in Irkutsk region

Zaitsev said that the launch of 3G will increase the competitiveness of the cellular networks of "Rostelecom" and its subsidiaries. The operator will launch commercial operation of third generation network in the Irkutsk region in November of this year (for the network subsidiary CJSC "BVC"). In the first phase 3G services will be available in Irkutsk and 9 cities in the region.

Currently, the network is in test operation, and the owners of smartphones and tablets with 3G already can benefit high-speed data. end of this year and in the first and second quarter of 2013 is scheduled to launch commercial operation of 3G networks in Seaside, Perm, Nizhny Novgorod, Tambov and Volgograd regions, Krasnoyarsk and other regions. Now "Rostelecom" and its subsidiaries (HCC IOO UCC, Sky Link, Volgograd GSM, ICCO, BIT) provide mobile services in the standards of GSM (900/1800 MHz) and CDMA-450 in 59 regions of Russia.
