The much-discussed LG Nexus phone, which is likely to be unveiled at
Google's October 29 event along with the next version of Android (4.2
Key Lime Pie), will hit the Indian markets by the end of November. Amit
Gujral, head, Mobile Product Planning, LG, on the sidelines of the
Optimus Vu launch event, in an interview with IBNLive said, "Google will
unveil the LG Nexus on October 29 and the phone will be available in
the Indian markets by the end of November."
Gujral also shed some light on the technical specifications of the LG Nexus smartphone. He said, the phone will feature a 4.7-inch screen, run Android 4.2 OS, and will be powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor."
If rumours are to be believed, the phone is expected to have 2GB of RAM, a 1280x768 IPS display, an 8-megapixel camera, and a non-removable battery. It will have 8GB to 16GB of internal storage but will not include a microSD card slot.
The LG Nexus will be the fourth phone in the Google Nexus lineup. Google, earlier, released three Nexus phones - the first with HTC in 2010 and the subsequent two with Samsung. After Google acquired Motorola earlier this year, there were assumptions that the next Google Nexus smartphone would be manufactured by Motorola.
