Samsung Galaxy S2 to get Jelly Bean update next month

If you own a Samsung Galaxy S II (S2) and have been getting green-eyed over the recently announced Jelly Bean-powered S2 Plus, don't fret. A Samsung spokesperson has just told us that Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) updates will be rolling out to current S2 owners in the beginning of February in Singapore.
The company's Korean Web site had previously posted details about the Jelly Bean update for the S2, but that image has since been pulled. However, Samsung fansite, SamMobile, managed to get a screengrab.

According to the update notes, you can expect to download it via Samsung Kies and not over-the-air (OTA). It will also take up 1GB of the 12GB of available internal memory, effectively decreasing it to 11GB. Some new features that will be added include Smart Stay, which keeps the display on by detecting when you're looking at the screen.
If you're fearless--and have a pretty good grasp of the Korean language--you can try flashing an unofficial (read: Leaked) version, like Korean tech blog site, Hong Goon.
We'll be keeping our eyes and ears peeled for updates for the other Galaxy smartphones in the family, too.
