Sony Xperia V to arrive with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean in January

THE SONY XPERIA V won't be arriving in the UK time for Christmas after all, as Sony has revealed that the handset has been delayed until 2013.
This update comes via the Sony France Twitter account, which also reveals that thanks to the delay, the phone will be the first Xperia phone to tip up running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
Sony Xperia France tweeted, "[UPDATE SCHEDULE] The Xperia V, originally scheduled end of the year to € 549 in ICS will be available late January 2013 to € 529 in JB."
We doubt there are many people bothered by this delay though, as the launch of the Sony Xperia V wasn't met by much enthusiasm. Unveiled at IFA in Berlin, the waterproof phone comes with a 4.3in HD 720p screen powered by a dual-core 1.5GHz processor and, at present, Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich.
An affordable alternative to the Sony Xperia T, the Sony Xperia V also features 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, a 13MP rear-facing camera with HD 1080p video, a VGA front-facing camera and a 1750mAh battery.
Sony was unavailable to provide any further comment at the time of publication.
